Here is a quick cowl that is crocheted from sock yarn. I got the idea when I was surfing the Knit Picks site and saw that several of my favorites were now "Last Chance." After grabbing several skeins, I had to find a pattern to use up all of that yummy, soft sock yarn and this cowl was the result.
It's crocheted in a rectangle using a simple shell, then sewn together to create a collar effect that tucks down securely into a coat and flares out over the collar.

Frannie Mae is one of those hats that looks great on everyone. Crocheted from bulky weight yarn, Frannie Mae can be stitched up in a jiff and it’s fully customizable! If you want a smaller size, leave out a round on the crown, if you want a larger size, add a round.
What could be easier?
